This page explains how buying from the Living Economies bookshop works, how we send your books, and what happens if something is not right. If you have any questions, email us at bookshop@livingeconomies.nz.
Payment
You can pay in two ways:
By card or wallet, including Google Pay, handled securely through Stripe. Your card details are entered into Stripe and are not seen or stored by us.
By direct bank transfer. When you choose this option, we email you our bank account details and your order is held until your payment arrives. Please use your order number as the payment reference so we can match it to your order. Once the payment clears, usually within one to two working days, we post your books.
Shipping and delivery
We post within New Zealand only. At checkout, you can choose:
Tracked post to an urban address.
Tracked post to a rural delivery, RD, address.
The exact postage for your order is shown at checkout before you pay. Books are sent from Christchurch, and we aim to post your order within a few working days of payment. For bank transfer orders, we post once your payment has cleared.
Returns, refunds and damaged books
We want you to be happy with your books. If a book arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, please contact us at bookshop@livingeconomies.nz within 14 days of receiving it, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund. This is in line with your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
As a small charity clearing much-loved titles, we are not able to offer returns simply for a change of mind, but if there is a problem with your order, please get in touch and we will do our best to put it right.
Free books
Some titles are offered free. For these you pay only the postage, which is shown at checkout, and we post them the same way as any other order.
